Football

Football is a sport that is played between two teams of 11 players each, including a goalkeeper. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting the ball into the opposing team's goalpost. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins.

The game is played on a rectangular field with a goalpost at each end. The length of a standard football field is 100-130 yards, and the width is 50-100 yards. The field is divided into two halves, and the center of the field is marked with a halfway line.

The game is controlled by a referee, who is assisted by two linesmen. The referee is responsible for enforcing the rules of the game, making decisions on fouls and other penalties, and keeping time. The linesmen are responsible for indicating when the ball has gone out of play and for assisting the referee in making offside decisions.

Each team has one goalkeeper, who is the only player allowed to use their hands within the penalty area, which is the area surrounding the goal. The rest of the players are outfield players and are not allowed to touch the ball with their hands.

The game is started with a kickoff, and the team that wins the coin toss gets to choose which end they want to attack. The ball is then placed in the center of the field and the game begins. The objective is to score goals by getting the ball into the opposing team's goalpost, using any part of the body except for the hands and arms.

Football is a physically demanding sport that requires a combination of skill, speed, and endurance. It is one of the most popular sports in the world and is played at both amateur and professional levels.

A standard football match consists of two halves, each lasting 45 minutes, with a 15-minute halftime break in between. In some competitions, there may be added time, also
known as stoppage time, at the end of each half to compensate for time lost due to injuries, substitutions, or other stoppages. The total length of a football match can range from 90 minutes to around 120 minutes, depending on the specific competition and the amount of added time.
